What can I do to install the Speedtouch ADSL USB modem correctly?
Details
The situation only happens on a computer with the Packard Bell Software Library (EasyDVD) installed.
Solution
The installation software tries to change a registry key that is protected by the Packard Bell Software Library. To be able to change this particular registry key, the permissions need to be modified. This process can be done automatically by downloading and installing Freeserve Broadband Patch (REFFIUP04940100). For Dutch systems, please download and install Speedtouch ADSL USB modem fix (REFFIUP05200105). After installing the patch, you can install the software without any problem. If the software was already installed, run the setup again and choose the Repair / Upgrade option.
