Desktops,

Desktop: A Serial Number is an unique number for your PC and contains 10 or 12 characters.

There are various ways to retrieve the serial number for your system:

Option 1: On systems with the original software your serial number can be read from a program called 'SnapSys' or a software tool on this page. Snapsys can be found under 'Packard Bell Support' in the start menu. When started, the titlebar of the program will display your serial number.

Option 2: The Serial Number can be found at the label on the back of the computer (not the monitor). Normally it has a prefix "S/N". The Serial Number of the monitor or any other accessory should not be used to identify the system.

Option 3: Alternatively, you might find the system serial number on the box in which the system shipped, or the paper with system credentials. In some cases, the serial number might also be printed on the invoice you received upon purchase.

When the previous options will not result in either a Serial Number then please use the Model Selector to identify your product.

Notebooks,

Notebook: A Serial Number is an unique number for your PC and contains 10 or 12 characters.

There are various ways to retrieve the serial number for your system:

Option 2: The Serial Number can be found at a label on the bottom side the notebook. Normally it's indicated with the prefix S/N.

When the previous options will not result in either a Serial Number then please use the Model Selector to identify your product.

MP3 Players,

MP3 Player: The Part Number will identify your product and is normally prefixed with P/N.

Option 1: Locate the Part Number on the back of the player or in the battery compartment.

Option 2: The Part Number may also be present on the blister or box in which the product was packed.

Option 3: Often the Part Number is also available on the invoice.

When the previous options will not result in either a Part Number then please use the Model Selector to identify your product.

DVD and Video Devices,

The Part Number will identify your product. Very rarely the device contains the Serial Number which could provide even more accurate information.

Option 1: Locate the Part Number on the back of the device. The Part Number is indicated with P/N.

Option 2: The Part Number can also be found on the box in which the product was sold.

Option 3: Often the Part Number is also available on the invoice.

When the previous options will not result in either a Serial Number or a Part Number then please use the Model Selector to identify your product.

The Part Number will identify your product and is normally prefixed with P/N.
